Drs. Lauren Good and Michelle Bayer Receive $1000 Scholarship Award
Drs. Lauren Good, PGY3 dermatology resident, and Michelle Bayer, pediatric dermatology research fellow, were recipients of a Dr. Elaine Kohler Global Health Elective Scholarship. This scholarship is used to support financial awards to Medical College of Wisconsin residents, fellows, graduate and medical students to offset expenses incurred while participating in an approved global health experience.
Dr. Good plans to do an away rotation in Cambodia working with the organization Health Volunteers Overseas (HVO). She will work with Cambodian medical students and physicians doing bedside rounds as well as attending educational lectures.
Dr. Bayer used her scholarship for her recent travels to Belize to set up the department’s newly established teledermatology outreach program with Hillside Health Care International in the Toledo District of southern Belize.
