Dr. Yvonne Chiu Receives CRI Grant
Dr. Yvonne Chiu received a one-year CRI award in the amount of $49,684 for her project entitled “Topical Treatment of Pediatric Morphea”. This project will rely on collaborators in the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA). A survey has been distributed to pediatric dermatologists nationwide to assess prescribing practices in the topical treatment of morphea. The survey results will provide baseline data for a PeDRA expert panel that will use nominal group technique to publish consensus treatment plans for pediatric circumscribed morphea. In addition, investigators will establish a comparative effectiveness feasibility trial to investigate three topical regimens for pediatric circumscribed morphea. The results of this feasibility study will serve as preliminary data to obtain funding for an investigator-led, multi-institutional trial in a larger subject population.
