Dr. JiaDe Yu Receives MCWAH Research Award
JiaDe (Jeff) Yu, MD, was the recipient of a 2015 MCWAH Research Award for his project “Clinical Characteristics and Prevalence of Headaches in PHACE Syndrome Patients”. Working with his research mentors, Drs. Beth Drolet and Dawn Siegel, Dr. Yu was the primary lead investigator of the project from the initial project planning stages, creation of surveys and distribution, and analysis of results. The results of this project demonstrated that patients with PHACE syndrome have a substantially higher prevalence of headaches compared to the general pediatric population. These headaches have features suggestive of migraines and develop during adolescence.
