Edit B. Olasz Harken, MD, PhD
Dr. Olasz, originally from Hungary, completed her dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin where she served as Chief Resident. She received her medical degree and Ph.D. from the University of Szeged, Hungary. Dr. Olasz has extensive basic science training in skin immunology, including a postdoctoral fellowship at the Dermatology Branch at the National Institutes of Health under the mentorship of Dr. Stephen Katz.
Her current laboratory research focuses on identifying the mechanism of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma development in immunosuppressed patients. She is the medical director of the immunofluorescence laboratory, phototherapy unit, and adult aesthetic and laser surgery. Dr. Olasz is an expert in treating high-risk skin cancers in immunosuppressed patients and part of a multidisciplinary Transplant Skin Cancer Group at Froedtert Hospital.
Dr. Olasz is highly skilled in cosmetic therapies using botulinum toxin, filler and laser treatment. She particularly enjoys providing comprehensive skin care advice to help her patients achieve their desired appearance and feel rejuvenated.
Additionally, Dr. Olasz serves as the Dermatology Chief at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center. She is proud and honored to provide the highest level of dermatological care to the veterans.
Dr. Olasz has numerous scientific publications and book chapters. She is a member of national and international boards and committees on transplant dermatology, international volunteerism and cutting edge research in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Olasz is passionate about volunteering her time to teach dermatology and provide dermatological care in underserved areas in the Caribbean and in Vietnam.
