Joree has worked at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin since 2002 taking care of infants, children and adolescents with a variety of skin conditions and diseases. She enjoys helping families because many skin conditions not only severely affect the quality of life of the child but can also affect the entire family.
What drives her most is the interaction with children of all ages. Children are open and honest; and their fears and concerns are all different. Joree believes that some of the greatest challenges and greatest rewards come from discovering these differences and being able to treat their skin disease in a way that is best for each individual. She knows that many times a dermatology visit can be very scary for kids; with the unknown of what is going to happen or from memories of previous painful doctor visits and we try to anticipate their fear and reassure them with techniques that best suit their personality.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing families in follow up visits and hearing how a treatment has helped their child; sleep better, stop itching, have less pain, and feel more self confident.
